MY COUSIN RACHEL
Cert 12
Digital Monday, disc October 30 This 19th-century murder mystery is an enjoyable adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s period potboiler. Rachel Weisz is brilliant as Rachel, a widowed older woman of questionable morals, uncertain motives and no income. Meanwhile, Sam Claflin plays her late husband’s cousin who has inherited a large estate. We’re teased as to whether she’s a sophisticate on the make, or a proud woman frustrated at her financial dependence on men who are inferior in brains and experience. Fans of TV’s Poldark will love it.
