Estate agent ad is banned

ADS for online estate agent Purplebricks have been banned for failing to clarify its fee is payable if a property does not sell.

The Advertising Standards Authority received 38 complaints that two TV ads misleadingly implied because it didn’t charge commission it was free.

Purplebricks has a flat fee and said customers knew it had to be paid.

But the ASA said: “It was not sufficiently clear in the ads the fee was not conditional on sale of property.”
