EDERSON GETS CITY OUT OF A TIGHT SPOT
EDERSON came to Pep Guardiola’s rescue as Manchester City completed their Italian job with a victory.
Free-flowing City raced into a two-goal lead after just 13 minutes, but had to withstand a furious Napoli fightback.
And even though
they gave away two penalties, Ederson saved the first to edge City closer to the knockout stages.
Blues defender Kyle Walker said: “We knew they would come at us in the second half but the lads showed character. Ederson kept us in it.” And City team-mate John Stones said: “We knew they played patient football and had attacking threat.
“But we played our football and at times it was great to watch. We are in a good position now.”
