‘Sad thing is, I had no time with him’
Adventurer Ben lost his third child in 2014 when his wife Marina suffered a stillbirth almost 33 weeks into her pregnancy and almost died herself.
Ben, 43, says: “I suppose the sad thing is that we didn’t even have the first minute to say anything to him, I think that’s probably the answer.”
The couple have two children, Ludo,
seven, and Iona, six. Marina sobs as she reveals what she believes she would tell her lost son, Willem: “I think what we tell our children every night and every morning – that we love them.”
Ben has spoken before of almost losing his wife, as well as his son .
He said: “I lost a son I never met and had to get to grips with the terror of losing Marina.
“It was just so unbelievably painful.”
