Humbling defeat leaves Koeman on the brink

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

RONALD KOEMAN is clinging to his job as Everton manager after another disastrous defeat.

The Dutchman (right) insists he can turn things around despite another humiliating result at Goodison. It dumped

Everton into the bottom three, with most Blues fans demanding change.

Koeman accepts his job is in jeopardy but is backing himself to get it right.

“It’s normal to have these rumours when the team is underperforming but the decision is not in my hands,” he said. “I personally think I can change the whole situation, but it is up to somebody else to decide.”

The defeat means Everton, who have lost their last three home matches, have recorded their worst start to a Premier League season in 11 years. Koeman is 1-3 to be next boss sacked.
