Giroud hit bags 2017 goal prize
OLIVIER GIROUD’s incredible scorpion kick against Crystal Palace has won the Puskas Award for FIFA Goal of the Year.
The Arsenal striker received the award at a star-studded ceremony at the London Palladium last night where Cristiano Ronaldo retained the Best FIFA Men’s Player prize.
The Frenchman netted in outrageous style on New Year’s Day at the Emirates.
“It is an honour for me,” said Giroud, 31. “I am delighted to receive this in front of legends. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.
“Obviously I would like to thank my team-mates. I would also like to dedicate this trophy to my dad.”
