Devil of a job naming baby
A COUPLE had to be persuaded not to call their baby son Lucifer.
The parents were convinced in court to change it to Lucian.
A registrar had refused to accept Lucifer – often given as the devil’s name – in Kassel, Germany,
The German Language Society said: “There are guidelines, but no laws. Decisions are about the child’s wellbeing.”
Names accepted in Germany include Gandalf, Anakin and Godsgift.
