YARDE OFF TO SHARKS

- EXCLUSIVE BY ALEX SPINK

ENGLAND wing Marland Yarde has left Harlequins and is joining Sale Sharks.

The move comes a week after the 25-year-old was dropped by Quins for disciplinary reasons after failing to turn up for training.

His week got worse on Thursday when he was omitted from England’s squad for the autumn internationals. Red Rose boss Eddie Jones said it had come down to a shootout between Yarde (above) and Denny Solomona, another Sale wing.

“The number of tries Denny has scored (7) is far superior to the amount Marland has scored (4),” said Jones. “We want a try-scorer on that wing so Denny gets the nod.”

It is understood Sale will pay up Yarde’s Quins contract and he will move north immediately.
