A MUM faces being kicked out on the streets after being ripped off in a home scam – by her son.

Paula Fletcher, 53, fears her house will be repossessed after fraudster Ashley took out a second mortgage with fake documents.

He secured £121,990 against the home to invest in a “pipedream” nightclub business – and when it flopped he blew what was left on a life of luxury.

Ashley, who had secretly added his name to the deeds of his mum’s house, was jailed for three years and four months for fraud and misrepresentation in 2015.

But because the Plymouth property was in joint names Paula is now terrified she will end up homeless. As she packed boxes in despair she said: “I’ve lost everything. He was guilty yet I am being kicked out. “I haven’t had a penny of the money he defrauded me out of. I just don’t understand how the bank can still take my house away.” Paula branded Ashley, who is now out of prison, “absolutely disgusting”. The part-time receptionist, who cares for her elderly mother, claimed she had contemplated suicide and added: “I’m really stuck and nobody seems to be able to help.” Bank giant Santander said it was “very sympathetic” and looking at options, but added: “We are owed the money obtained by Mr Fletcher against the property.”
