HARRY KANE can inspire Spurs to the knock-out stages of the Champions League, according to defender Jan Vertonghen.

Kane, who starts tonight, is a major transfer target for Real Madrid and Vertonghen (above) said: “Harry is one of the best No.9s in Europe, maybe the best. He shows that every week and I wouldn’t swap him for any player. Our first goal is to qualify for the next round. We are in a good place and have played very professional games both home and away, already in this campaign.

“If we win, we have a very good chance of going to the next stage. That is our first goal. Winning the group is another goal but the first is to qualify.”
