Kop star slams death threat to his family as ’disgusting’
LIVERPOOL’S Dejan Lovren has branded death threats made against his family “disgusting”.
Lovren has come under fire after poor displays and shared a threat made to him on social media, claiming the abuse has gone too far.
The centre-half posted on Instagram a direct message he
had received, which read: “I’m gonna murder ur family u Croatian p***k.” Lovren, 28, whose family were forced to flee conflict in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, captioned the post “horrible what kind of people we have”. The Croatia international then posted another message, which read: “I don’t mind when people talk s**t about me, it says more about them! “But I cannot ignore when my family is threatened. I can’t and won’t accept that. Disgusting.” Lovren was hauled off (above) in the first half of Liverpool’s 4-1 drubbing by Tottenham.
