Woman in Valentine Day row ‘hurt lover with heart vase’

- BY LOUIE SMITH

A MAN was left with a gashed arm after his girlfriend hurled a 3ft tall heart-shaped ornament at him during a Valentine’s Day row, a court heard.

Anthony Glover, 42, claims Lynette Wright, 38, picked up the glass vase after throwing his clothes and possessions onto her front lawn.

Prosecutor Joanne Eley said he called his mum, saying: “Can you help? She’s trying to kill me.” A jury was told he needed 13 stitches on a 12cm wound on his left forearm. Wright denies grievous bodily harm and criminal damage relating to a mobile phone and tablet owned by Mr Glover. Ipswich crown court heard Wright, of Beccles, Suffolk, told police: “He was pulling me. He really scared me to death. I don’t know how he got that cut. He may have done it himself. “I just wanted to get him off me in self defence.” The trial continues.
