‘Check labels on Xmas toys in recall alert’
PARENTS buying toys are being urged to check for safety labels as they account for almost 40% of all product recalls.
The “Made in China” stamp is the worst offender with 91% of toys cleared from shelves imported from the Far East.
Choking risks from small parts and lithium button batteries were the biggest dangers, said the Recall Index by Stericycle Expert Solutions.
Farzad Henareh, European vice president, said: “Consumers purchasing toys this Christmas do need to remain vigilant.”
