‘Lottery’ on cancer trials

CANCER patients can be six times less likely to be offered potentially lifesaving clinical trials depending on their hospital.

A study showed it was discussed with one sufferer in 10 at some health trusts but six out of 10 at others.

The National Cancer Research Institute said: “There should never be such a big discrepancy – trusts are all part of the same health service.”
