Mrs Brown: My daughter is no oligarch... she drives a Kia

-

MRS Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has launched a passionate defence of his daughter, accused of using an offshore haven to avoid taxes.

And he attacked the BBC’s Panorama for the way they treated Fiona Delany.

He insisted none of the Mrs Brown’s Boys cast had done anything wrong. Three stars, his daughter Fiona, her husband Martin and Patrick Houlihan, put £2million in an offshore scheme.

O’Carroll said: “She is not an oligarch laundering money through Greek banks, nor does she deal in the arms trade, deal drugs or traffic people.

“She has never committed a crime in her life, she doesn’t have a private yacht or own a collection of luxury cars. She drives a Kia people carrier which is necessary if you have four toddlers.”

O’Carroll said his daughter was ambushed by the BBC and left in tears. He said: “They scared the life out of her.”

And he insisted: “Not one penny of their TV appearances went into that fund. Panorama said that they are paid offshore. “That’s b ***** ks. “Their fees are paid to a UK agency called ProFid. They invoice us and we pay their fees to ProFid who organise whatever they organise to give them their salary. In Fiona’s case I know she paid £200,000 in tax last year.”
