Pulis on holiday on Barbados as fans demand sacking of the Baggies boss

TONY PULIS is under fresh pressure after a fans forum demanded that West Brom sack him.

The Baggies boss faces a crunch home game with Chelsea next Saturday amid mounting criticism over his team’s poor form.

Supporters called for Pulis’ head during goal-shy Albion’s dismal 1-0 defeat against 10-man Huddersfield.

Now fans have made their unhappiness known at The Hawthorns this week after 10 games without a win.

The Welshman is also attracting flak for going on holiday to Barbados and giving his squad the week off too.

Chief executive Martin Goodman and director of football administration Richard Garlick both attended the Albion Assembly meeting on Thursday night.

The group usually discusses offfield subjects in its quarterly gettogethers, but members were given a chance to air views on the former Stoke boss.

The majority said they wanted to get rid of Pulis with one even asking Garlick: “Would you pay to watch that?”

Assembly member Iain Bate tweeted: “Lots of strong views put forward by fans about the current situation. Issue added to the agenda as not to avoid the elephant in the room. They know the discontent in the fan base.”

Bate added: “I wouldn’t say they have ignored anything. They are well aware of situation. And that it can’t continue. They just haven’t acted or decided to make a change yet.”

Attendances are falling and Albion’s Chinese owner Guochuan Lai is flying in for the visit of champions Chelsea.

Lai (above) bought the club from Jeremy Peace in August 2016 for nearly £200million.

Pulis, who has never been relegated in his career, was central to Lai’s plans for profitability without huge investment.

But the Baggies have now taken just 12 points from their last 20 league games stretching back to last season, when they finished 10th.

They have not won since August, with Albion fans singing, “Tony Pulis, get out of our club” at Huddersfield.

UK-based chairman John Williams backed Pulis in the dressing room after that defeat, which leaves them 16th, a point above the drop zone.

But Pulis, who returns to training on Monday, knows he needs results and attractive performances fast.
