Pooch saves its fellow pet in house fire
RESCUED Tina and Sandy A DEVOTED dog ran into a burning home to save its best pal – a blind chihuahua called Tina.
Pomeranian Sandy escaped from the blaze with owner Lily Ifield, 72, but the 10-year-old pet realised Tina, 13, was trapped and went back into the smoke-filled house in Little Hadham, Herts.
Firefighters found the pair side-by-side and safe.
Retired secretary Lily said Sandy was by her side “but the next thing I knew she’d gone in to get Tina”.
Lily thanked firefighter Pat Steadman for the rescue. She said: “When he came out I was close to crying.”
Pat said: “The 13-yearold was the smallest chihuahua you’ve seen. They were only going to come out together.”
