Poquelin created history in 2010 when becoming the first dual winner of the race

The highest weight ever carried to victory was the 12st 7lb shouldered by Pendil in 1973

Pendil was also the shortestpriced Caspian Caviar Gold Cup victor at 8-11

Tamarinbleu became the longest-priced winner in the contest’s history at 22-1 in 2007

Sam Twiston-Davies is the only other current rider to have won the race more than once HAYLEY TURNER was handed a three-month riding ban by the British Horseracing Authority this week for opening an internet betting account and breaching the rules governing betting by jockeys.

The BHA will allow Hayley to visit and work on racecourses and other licensed premises during the length of the ban.

I feel the BHA should allow Hayley to still ride but ban her from visiting and working on racecourses. That way she’d have to go to great lengths to disguise herself when gaining admission to courses, which would be great fun for everybody.

The ban does seem a heavy-handed overreaction to an innocent oversight. I mean, how many jockeys use other people’s accounts when they want to place a bet on a horse. If the answer’s not, “all of them” I’d be truly amazed.

Two jockeys regularly used to place bets on my phone account in the late 1990s.

I’m not giving away any names but one of them worked on Radio 2.
