AMIR Khan has finally been reunited with his pregnant wife – after spending more than a month Down Under in I’m a Celebrity.
Faryal Makhdoom, 26, surprised her husband with a jungle-themed party to celebrate his birthday.
The boxer finished fifth and left the ITV show on December 7, a day before he turned 31.
The couple also had a fun night at Argeela Lounge and Grill in Birmingham on Saturday, and attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year last night.
The united front is in sharp contrast to their public fights on social media earlier in the year.
He had accused her of cheating before the couple, who have three-year-old daughter Lamaisah, reunited after the pregnancy was announced in August.
When Khan left the jungle, he revealed why they did not divorce. “It’s banned in Islam when a girl is pregnant,” he said. “I’ve learned my lesson. It was a wake-up call and will only make us stronger.” He accused her of infidelity with boxer Anthony Joshua but she forgave him, saying: “Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely no truth to it.” Yesterday there were concerns for his campmate Iain Lee after a series of 4am tweets ahead of his return to the UK. Lee, 44, who has spoken of his depression, said: “Feeling absolutely terrified and anxious about what’s to come.” He said he had “nothing but respect” for everybody in the jungle but he also had “my truth”. “Kind of wishing, at 4.23am, I hadn’t done any of this. Guess I’m destined to always be the guy on the outside,” he said.
