YOU’VE COTT NIGHTMARES NOW, BLUES

-

BIRMINGHAM stayed bottom of the Championship with manager Steve Cotterill haunted by the threat of relegation.

Norwich’s Alex Pritchard scored for the first time this season after his recent return from injury.

Then he set up Josh Murphy (above) for the Canaries’ second.

But Cotterill’s toothless side have won just once in 12 games and he is desperate for a change in fortunes. Three points away from safety, Blues were booed off at the final whistle.

Cotterill said: “Whatever I say won’t pacify anyone, will it? It’s tough. It’s everything... you don’t know the half of it. I won’t say anything, I don’t do that.

“I have no option other than to be positive. It’s irrelevant, we just have to keep doing this until something changes for us.

“There’s nothing we can do with any of the three strikers we’ve lost.

“It’s not ideal just to have Lukas Jutkiewicz, he’s all we had here, our only available striker. God knows what would have happened if we’d lost him in training.”

Norwich boss Daniel Farke said: “After the defeat against Brentford at home on Friday, there were tears in the eyes of the young lads in the dressing room. After this result, the applause goes to the players.

“Pritchard scored a brilliant goal and made a great assist. I’m happy to have him back.

“He’s one of the best players in that position in the division and he’s pretty important for us.”
