TRAVEL ADVICE

Daily Mirror - - NEWS - NIGEL THOMPSON, Travel Editor BY

TAKING your prescription medication on holiday can be a minefield – what is legal here may be restricted (ie you need a doctor’s letter) or illegal in another country, with the risk of jail.

So plan well ahead: seek advice from your GP or practice nurse at least 10 weeks before you travel.

Also check the drugs rules for your destination (and any countries you are transiting) with the embassy – there is a list at the gov.uk site. And never carry them for anyone else.
