Whine dining in Houses of Parliament
PAMPERED MPs, peers and their staff have filed a raft of complaints about taxpayer-funded canteens.
Despite enjoying fine wine and subsidised meals in the House of Commons and Lords, their moans included portion sizes and soggy battered fish.
One lord – embroiled in a row over attendance allowances, exposed by the Mirror – complained about thin slices of meat.
They said: “One thick slice, but an enormous hole in the middle, and we clearly have a very different definition of thick.”
Another rant was about “soggy, grey, unappealing” battered fish. A Commons spokesman said the catering service “seeks feedback to ensure high standards”, adding: “We provide a value-for-money service.”
