I was sad to read about the situation ex-footballer Emmanuel Eboue finds himself in. I applaud him for speaking out about the mental health issues he is facing after the suicide of his friend, Steve Gohouri, and his divorce (Mirror, December 26).

When young players start their careers, earning vast sums, they need guidance. Clubs should also do more to look after their ex-stars. D Hughesdon South London

As we now seem to be finally moving on to the next stage of the Brexit negotiatio­ns, has anyone given any thought to the fact that many of our services, such as energy, water, railways and so on, are owned by foreign firms?
