MINI DESIGN IS A BIG DRAW

Mini is giving owners the power to customise their cars. The firm will soon start supplying parts such as side scuttles, interior trim and illuminated door sills designed by customers on a new website.

The personalised parts will be produced by 3D printing technology in Germany then fitted by a dealer in the UK, but they can be removed and replaced with original parts just in case the prospective buyer of your Mini doesn’t fancy purple sill covers with pink spots on them.

Mini is calling the service Mini Yours. I think it sounds great. Families will have a lot of fun designing bits with kids playing a key role. We’ll keep you posted.
