SIMEONE’S NOT MAD AT COSTA

-

DIEGO SIMEONE had no qualms over Diego Costa’s red card after he was sent off in his second game back at Atletico Madrid.

The ex-Chelsea bad boy was on a booking when he celebrated with fans after scoring the clincher in a 2-0 victory against Getafe.

And boss Simeone (with Costa, above) said: “After six months out Costa scores a goal and wants to celebrate with the fans. The ref cannot think about the emotional part – he is there to follow rules. The yellow is deserved. We accept it.”

Lionel Messi scored in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Levante to equal Germany legend Gerd Muller’s 39-year record of 365 goals for a single club in one of Europe’s top-five leagues.

Argentina star Messi netted in the 12th minute, with Luis Suarez and Paulinho also on target.

Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi accused Cagliari fans of racially abusing him during his side’s 1-0 win on Saturday.

He said: “I experienced racism during the match.

“Weak people try to intimidate with hate. I am not a hater and can only be sorry for those who set bad examples.

“Football is a way to spread equality, passion and inspiration and this is what I am here for. Peace.”
