BAB’S BACK FROM BRUM

-

The BBC’s biggest drama Call the Midwife ended its Christmas Day special with Barbara leaving for a stint in Birmingham.

Nooooo! But, as our first-look image reveals, she’s soon back with her pals, including new West Indian nurse Lucille. Phew.

Writer Heidi Thomas says the newcomer, played by Leonie Elliott, brings an “exciting” and different cultural point of view. As we roll into 1964, the nurses are faced with leprosy, stroke, Huntington’s chorea, cataracts and unmarried mothers.

We can’t wait for the action to kick off on BBC1 this month...
