Not everyone was convinced by this thriller which started last week with a terrorist attack in London and an abduction and murder in Pakistan. It was accused of having clunky storylines and not enough tension.

But the plot picks up pace this week, and no one can argue with the brilliant performances by the cast – including Archie Panjabi as Mona and Jack Davenport as her husband Guy. Mona has secretly made contact with Kareem’s son Danny in Lahore, while the rest of the family still believe him to have swanned off to Spain. Now Mona is approached by police counter terrorism chief Vivien Barnes to travel to Pakistan and identify Kareem’s body.

“No way,” says Guy. “It’s not safe.” He’s right of course, but Mona ignores his pleas and immediately flies to Pakistan where she tries to make contact with Danny.

And of course, she finds herself in danger.
