Union wins driver battle
A UNION has won up to £20,000 back pay for drivers fighting “bogus” management claims that they are self-employed.
UK Express settled with the GMB before it took the firm to a tribunal.
The union said classing drivers as self-employed cost them benefits such as paid holidays and breaks.
Maria Ludkin, of the GMB, called it a victory in its battle “against bogus self-employment.”
