£900 fine for thug who hit TV chef Nick

INJURIES Nick Nairn tweet A THUG who attacked celebrity chef Nick Nairn as he walked in the street has been fined £900.

Scott Smith admitted punching Nairn in Aberdeen, where the TV regular runs a cookery school and pizza restaurant.

Nairn, 59, tweeted a picture of his injuries after an altercation in a main street in the city centre just before Christmas.

Smith, 35, of Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to assault at the city’s sheriff court.

Nairn has told how partner Julia Foster swung her handbag at Smith as the chef lay bleeding on the pavement.

He has said previously: “She’s a real have- a- go hero. I remember watching her thinking, ‘ Christ almighty, you wouldn’t cross her’.”
