Midwife role put Helen off natural birth

- BY NICOLA METHVEN TV Editor

NEW MUM Helen George ACTRESS Helen George has revealed that working on Call the Midwife for six years persuaded her to have her daughter delivered by caesarean.

The actress, 33, whose daughter Wren arrived early in October, denied being “too posh to push”.

She told the Radio Times: “I had to deliver her early, but even without that, I would have gone for an elective caesarean because of what I’d learned on Call the Midwife.

“I’ve experienced natural childbirth through the legs of many an actress and I didn’t want to do it myself.

“I’m not against natural birth, I’m pro whatever you feel is right for you.”

Helen and her partner Jack Ashton, who plays Tom Hereward, return in the new series on Sunday.
