HODGSON: IT’S MY DESTINY

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

ROY HODGSON says he has never regretted returning to football with Crystal Palace – especially as they are winning again. The former England manager took over at Selhurst Park in September with the Eagles rock bottom of the table and then saw his side concede 10 goals in his first three Premier League games. But Hodgson travels to Arsenal after a run of only one defeat in 12 which has lifted his side to 12th place. The ex-Inter Milan and Liverpool boss (left) has always insisted he was not seeking redemption – and became incensed at a recent press conference when his England reign was labled a “debacle”. The 70-year-old, who revealed his wife Sheila pushed him to return, said: “I have enjoyed it from the start. I enjoy being back on the field, enjoy being back working with players every day with the chance to have an influence. “It is hard work, but I knew that when I took the job on and I have not had one single regret since taking it on that I did so.”
