CARLOS NOTT COMPLACENT

- BY STEFFAN THOMAS

CARLOS CARVALHAL is dreaming of an FA Cup run ahead of Swansea’s trip to Notts County today. The Liberty Stadium boss is hoping to avoid the embarrassment of an upset against the League Two side, but from his days in Portugal knows David can overcome Goliath. “When I was coach of Leixoes we were in the third division and lost 1-0 in the final of the Portuguese Cup to Sporting Lisbon in 2002,” said Carvalhal (right).

“Given the tradition of the cup, these games against lower league sides can be very hard. The FA Cup isn’t our priority because to stay in the Premier League is our goal. Notts County are doing very well. They have some good attackers in Jon Stead and Shola Ameobi with massive experience and they are a wellorganised team.” The Swans have reported a clean bill of health, but will not be risking their star players.
