NORTH AND WILLIAMS FIT FOR BATTLE

- BY ALEX BYWATER

GEORGE NORTH and Liam Williams have returned to full training and are in contention for Wales when they take on England on Saturday. Dragons boss Warren Gatland will name his team at midday today, with the British & Irish Lions duo back in the reckoning. “Most of the boys are looking forward to Saturday already,” said Wales skills coach Neil Jenkins. “George playing last week was a big boost for us and it’s the same with Liam. They’re both world-class players and a big positive for us.” North (left) showed his fitness with a try in Northampton’s Anglo-Welsh Cup win over Harlequins. Saracens star Williams (above) had intensive rehabilitation on an abdominal problem. Gatland now has a big decision on whether to start the pair on the wings against England. Leigh Halfpenny is certain to begin at fullback after scoring 24 points in the 34-7 thrashing of Scotland. North is the more likely starter and could replace Josh Adams. Cory Hill (concussion) is the only Wales concern. “We’re under no illusions over how tough it’s going to be at Twickenham,” said Jenkins.
