ROO’S WATCHING GRIEF

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

WAYNE ROONEY has confessed he was embarrassed to witness Everton’s first-half display at Arsenal on Saturday.

The Blues skipper marched into the dressing room at the interval to lambast his teammates for a display that left boss Sam Allardyce lamenting “every player was c**p”.

Rooney (above) watched from the bench, head in hands, as Arsenal cruised towards a 5-1 win. He revealed: “It was 4-0 then and easy, sloppy goals given away. “I said at half-time to the lads that I was embarrassed sat on the bench because the performance was not good enough for what we want and how we know we can play. We had to show some pride.

“Managers pay the ultimate price and get sacked – but as players we have to take responsibility.”
