Arrogance of the Three Brexiteers

- FIONA PARKER

A TORY coup comprised of Brexiteers Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Jacob Rees-Mogg would be a gift to Labour. All three have egos the size of a skyscraper and would be more interested in scoring political points over each other rather than doing what’s best for the country.

Theresa May must realise by now she is never going to end the Conservative civil war that has existed in her party for more than 40 years over Britain’s relationship with the EU.

We simply cannot leave the future of the nation in the hands of the bickering Tories. Voters must be given another chance to vote in a second referendum on whether or not we accept the terms and conditions of our departure from the EU.

Christine Hanks, Woking, Surrey

At a time when Theresa May is facing increasing hostility from the EU negotiators, it’s a shame the Tory Party cannot be united behind her. It seems she got a better reception in China than she does in Parliament. It can’t have escaped the attention of the EU that so many Tory MPs are plotting Mrs May’s downfall when she should be getting 100% support from them. As far as Brexit is concerned, we should all support our Prime Minister regardless of domestic politics.

The arrogance of the bonkers Tory Brexiteers, Boris Johnson, Michael Gove

and Jacob Rees-Mogg, threatening a coup against the Prime Minister, with what they laughingly label the “dream team” is breathtaking. The only one missing here is Pinocchio.

Silly question, but where is the electorate in this Tory Party game of thrones? Mrs May may be damaged, but she is the elected Prime Minister. This carnival of cardboard cutthroats could not win a sack-race – and the sack is exactly what they should get.

Ex-Attorney General Dominic Grieve, like Tony Blair and other Remain bad losers, is trying to make us change our mind about Brexit.

He should have more faith in our country which has had a great empire, survived two world wars and several financial depressions.

This country will always come out on top, so let the democratic process take its course.

F Brown Prestatyn Denbighshire

Are these hard-line

Brexiteers for real? They seem to believe that Britain, a country struggling to pay its way in the world, can afford to turn its back on the EU, which just happens to be Britain’s biggest export market.

Everything I’ve heard confirms that no matter what kind of Brexit we have, it will be damaging for this country.

T Davis, Kidderminster, Worcs

When will the European Union and our so-called negotiators understand that we do not want a transition period? We want out and the sooner the better. We do not want unlimited migration, nor do we want to carry on donating to the EU’s funds. Also when are the Remainers going to stop trying to scare voters into changing their minds? Every prediction they have made so far has proved to be untrue – it’s just speculation.
