Carer ‘left fallen OAP’

-

A LIVE-IN carer left a blind dementia sufferer lying for 30 minutes under some stairs following a fall, a jury was told.

Only after neighbours intervened, did Priscilla Ngwenya call an ambulance for Jessie Mills, 93, Guildford crown court heard.

Prosecutor Jonathan Davies said Kifle Mahomnen, Mrs Mills’ neighbour in Guildford, Surrey, “walked downstairs towards Jessie’s flat and heard a voice say ‘I’m not coming down, Jessie’ ”.

Ngwenya, 57, allegedly said it was not her firm’s policy to lift clients. She denies wilful neglect in May 2016. The trial continues.
