JUST A BIG C-RIY BABY SAYS SUTT

KOE’S DUTCH OK

-

RONALD KOEMAN is the new man in the Holland hot seat.

The former Everton boss has signed a fourand-a-half-year deal to manage their underperforming squad who failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup.

His contract will take him through – the Dutch football federation hope – to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. “I am really looking forward to it and I think it is a great honour,” said Koeman.

“The expectations are always high. You want to achieve something, unfortunately that has not been achieved in recent years. I do not see it as an easy job, but I do have faith in it.” FROM BACK PAGE of the winger claimed former Foxes stars had warned him he would have “to go to war” in order to leave the club.

Leicester, unwilling to pick a fight with their prize asset, are understood still to be paying Mahrez, who thought his dream move would be sealed last week.

Leicester boss Claude Puel (below) maintains he is willing to reintegrate Mahrez into the first team once he feels ready to return. But ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has accused the player of behaving “like a big baby.”

Sutton, a titlewinner with Blackburn in 1995, said: “He’s a big baby isn’t he?

“Yes, he’s disappointed not to go to a bigger club, I understand that, but Leicester put him on the map and he has to see out his contract. He is letting his manager and his team-mates down.”

Mahrez, signed for just £400,000 from Le Havre six years ago, claims Leicester have broken a promise to let him go once they received an acceptable offer. Mahrez and his camp deem a £60m bid perfectly acceptable given the amount he was bought for.
