I’M NOT LABAD BOY

- EXCLUSIVE BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

JOSS LABADIE believes Newport’s two FA Cup ties against Tottenham have given him the stage to show “the real me” after being banned twice for biting.

Newport skipper Labadie (left) admits his reputation was tarnished after the 2014 and 2015 incidents which saw him suspended first for 10 games while at Torquay and then for six months when a Dagenham player.

But he made headlines for the right reasons as he helped Newport earn a replay against Spurs with a man-of-the-match display in the first tie at Rodney Parade 10 days ago.

He said: “That was the real me. That’s the way I like to play.

“I had a lot of texts after the game and it was nice for the pundits to sing my praises. It was something that made me and my family proud.

“Now it’s Wembley. It is every kid’s dream to play there and I am just going to relish the challenge. It will be tougher than the first game because it’s their patch but never say never.”
