Iron fast Evra deal
PATRICE EVRA has described joining West Ham as “the fastest thing I have done in my life”.
Evra sealed his return to football and the Premier League yesterday when he joined the Hammers until the end of the season.
The left-back, 36, was available on a free transfer after being sacked by Marseille in November, when banned by UEFA for kicking a fan in the head before a Europa League tie.
Since then, Evra has trained in Dubai and kept fans updated by posting viral videos on social media, featuring his catchphrase “I love this game!”.
He said: “It was the fastest thing I have done in my life – as both parties wanted to work together. I’m happy to be a Hammer, back in the Premier League – and I love this game!”
Evra worked under West Ham boss David Moyes at Manchester United and was able to sign outside the transfer window because of his free-transfer status.
