1st class quiet spots ditched

VIRGIN Trains East Coast is scrapping quiet coaches in first class from May 20.

The operator said “only 9% of people” appreciated the peace but there will still be quiet coaches in standard class.

Earlier this month Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said the East Coast mainline may be nationalised after breaches in its £3.3billion contract.
