Stokes in dock over club brawl

RAP Arriving at court & in dock CRICKETER Ben Stokes arrives at court to face a charge of affray following a fight outside a Bristol nightclub that cost him his place in the Ashes squad.

Stokes, 26, stood in the dock at Bristol magistrates alongside Ryan Ali, 28, and Ryan Hale, 26. All three denied affray and will be tried at crown court. They were bailed until the first hearing on March 12.

Stokes will today travel to New Zealand to train with the England squad. The England and Wales Cricket Board said: “He is not currently being considered for the ongoing International T20 Tri-Series.”
