Liam: It’s defo leopard for me
New home will get a Bet Lynch makeover
LIAM Gallagher wants a “Vegas slash Corrie” vibe in his new home, with more leopard print than Bet Lynch’s wardrobe.
The singer, 45, will think of the Coronation Street barmaid, played by Julie Goodyear, when he moves to a new North London home.
He said: “I have leopard print carpet. That’s my Elvis vibe and the Bet Lynch gear.
“Curtains? I’ll go for the black velvet leopard print kind again or all black. On the walls it’s kind of plain, just pictures.”
Speaking to Jo Whiley on Radio 2, Liam said he had been told the 17th century house had once been used by soldiers for “little rendezvous” with prostitutes. He said the locals did not seem impressed by their new rock star arrival. “I can see the neighbours now when I go in there, because the building work is still going on, and see them going like, ‘Oh no, not him, man’, you know what I mean? “Loads of For Sale signs going up next.” The ex-Oasis frontman won the Godlike Genius award at the NME Awards on Wednesday, six years after his brother Noel. Liam said: “The best things come to those who wait.”
