Bargain Hunt star splashes £1.5m on home
WAYNE Rooney has a new neighbour – perma-tanned TV antiques expert David “The Duke” Dickinson.
The ex-Bargain Hunt star has snapped up a £1.5million penthouse next to the football ace’s home, in Prestbury, Cheshire.
Dickinson, whose catchphrase on the show was “cheap as chips”, said: “When we walked in, it really had the wow factor.
“The security is marvellous. When I go away with work, it’s good to know [wife] Lorne feels safe.” Rooney’s three-storey mansion includes a swimming pool, gym, hot tub, football pitch and even its own private cinema. But the pair won’t be neighbours for long. The Everton star and his family are moving to a new £20million property currently being built nearby. Wayne, 32, and wife Coleen, 31, splashed out last year on the vast six-bedroom property on a 40-acre plot. Dickinson hosted Bargain Hunt on BBC1 between 2000 and 2004. He has since hosted ITV daytime show Dickinson’s Real Deal.
