FURIOUS Cheryl Tweedy has slammed claims that her loved-up appearance with partner Liam Payne at the Brit Awards was a stunt.

The singer, 34, reacted to speculation that their relationship is on the rocks by telling an onlooker at Wednesday’s ceremony: “We’re fine, we’re happy.”

And she was livid yesterday after critics suggested she only hit the red carpet with the former One Direction star, 24, to create publicity for his new single.

Brushing the talk off as “just ludicrous and a bit weird”, she added “No one cares who’s been speculatively arguing or not in their relationships.”

The former Girls Aloud star’s reunion with Liam was brief as he had to jet to America to shoot the video for his new single.

A source said: “It’s not great timing but it’s a long-standing work commitment and he has Cheryl’s full support.”

We reported earlier this week how the couple were going through a rough patch but trying to work things out.

Friends of both have admitted they are under pressure and “need to spend more time with each other”. A pal said of Cheryl’s red carpet appearance: “Cheryl was determined to show the world that their relationship is worth fighting for.”

Backstage sources also said the pair seem loved-up. One said: “They were hanging out together in his dressing room. They came out giggling and looking happy.”

Liam posted a video of them relaxing on his dressing room sofa with Cheryl tickling his nose.

They later partied at the Universal bash at London’s Ned Hotel. A pal said: “They are having relationship strains, it doesn’t mean they don’t want to have a night out and have fun.”

Cheryl shared snaps from the night, including ones of Liam performing with Rita Ora.

The couple got together in 2016 and had son Bear last March.
