Plans are up and running for London Marathon sponsor Virgin Money to expand into new areas.

The lender launched a business savings account last month and it aims to begin testing an internetonly bank in the second half of this year.

The roll-out came as the firm revealed profits jumped by a better than expected 28% to £273million last year.
