‘Rocket’ wheeling away in triumph

RONNIE O’SULLIVAN compared his tour rivals to “hamsters on a wheel”, as he raced into the Welsh Open quarter-finals without dropping a frame.

O’Sullivan, 42, whitewashed David Grace and Mike Dunn yesterday, and reckons picking and choosing his tournaments helps maintain an edge.

The Rocket (above) said: “A lot of the guys are under pressure, trying to get money and ranking points, and to cover their expenses.

“It’s like they are on a hamster wheel. I am not in that position and treat snooker as a hobby. It probably gives me an advantage.”
