Protein drink ‘hits sperm’
PROTEIN shakes could be making men infertile, experts have warned.
Many of the popular fitness drinks contain steroid substitutes that boost testosterone, which affects sperm production.
University of Sheffield fertility expert Professor Allan Pacey said more and more men who present with “very low or no sperm counts” admit to using protein shakes.
He added: “They have the sperm of somebody who is taking steroids. And it is a concern.”
