DAVID BYRNE

Last year, Byrne passed up the chance to mark the 40th anniversary of his groundbreaking band Talking Heads, preferring to finesse this, his first solo album in 14 years. The product of forward thinking it features collaborations with Brian Eno but the zany devices used to colour the songs and wrong-foot convention don’t always make for prime time Byrne. At best the grooves and suitably angular perspectives in Every Day Is A Miracle winningly combine optimism and invention.
