TOON KEN PULL OFF A BLUE COUP

- BY SIMON BIRD

NEWCASTLE want to land Chelsea winger Kenedy on a permanent deal. The Toon will have to pay up to £15million for the Brazilian who has helped lift them from relegation danger. Kenedy (left) scored twice against Southampton on Saturday and has made six league starts – more than in two-and-a-half years at Chelsea. He is open to staying on Tyneside if they remain in the top flight. The Blues refused to give Newcastle first option on Kenedy, 22, when he was loaned in January. Boss Rafa Benitez said: “Can we keep him after the end of the season? At the moment we must make sure we enjoy him while he is here.”
