Kalashnikov to outgun Getabird
SOME say the Cheltenham Roar, that glorious growl that lifts the stands seconds before the first race, is six-parts Guinness, two-parts anticipation and two-parts people joining in just for the sheer hell of it.
Should Getabird win the opener, the Supreme Novices’, the noise at the end of the race could be even louder than the start with approximately four-fifths of punters getting off to the perfect start.
The likes of Altior, Douvan and Vautour have justified favouritism in previous years but is Getabird as good?
Willie Mullins’ charge isn’t proven going round a left-handed course. The 11-8 looks plenty skinny taking into account the trainer’s record of four winners from 34 runners in the Supreme.
If you want an alternative then look no further than Amy Murphy’s
KALASHNIKOV, who looks an absolute monster. If he were trained by Mullins or Nicky Henderson he’d be half the price.
A reproduction of his Betfair Hurdle run would see him victorious.
